Professional Bio
Bertrand Evans-Taylor is an arts advocate, cultural organizer, and community event producer working at the intersection of public policy, equity, and creative practice. He serves as Director of Government Affairs at Dance/USA, where he leads federal advocacy efforts and works to strengthen the conditions that allow dancers and dance organizations to thrive.
With more than a decade of experience in arts administration and community engagement, Bertrand approaches advocacy as relationship-building and ecosystem stewardship. He began his policy work during graduate study, earning a Master’s in Arts and Culture Management with a concentration in Advocacy and Outreach, and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work to deepen his equity-centered, systems-based approach to leadership.
In addition to his national advocacy work, Bertrand leads the Black American Music Movement and produces community-centered cultural events that amplify historically marginalized voices. A classical pianist, he believes the arts are essential to civic life, social movements, and building the Beloved Community.
