How can artists and dance organizations use their existing strengths to make a difference in civic life?

This 60-minute webinar will explore the role dance can play in building stronger, more engaged communities. From nonpartisan voter engagement and local advocacy to coalition building, public investment, and community partnerships, speakers will examine practical ways artists and organizations can participate in civic life while advancing their missions.

The conversation will bring together perspectives from civic engagement, arts advocacy and coalition building, and a Dance/USA member who put these ideas into practice through the Dance2Vote campaign. Together, they will discuss how the dance field can help increase civic participation, strengthen relationships with communities and decision-makers, and connect public engagement to long-term organizational sustainability.

With an election approaching, the webinar will offer both immediate opportunities to get involved and a broader look at how dance can remain an active part of civic life beyond Election Day.
